The Role Moira Shire Council requires a resourceful and efficient individual with excellent communication and customer skills to join its Safety and Amenity unit as a Casual Safety and Amenity Officer. The successful applicant will be required to contribute to the safety and amenity of the municipality through the provision of information, assistance and advice to the community, and through the enforcement of Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws. As a Safety and Amenity Officer, you will be responsible for investigating complaints, undertaking inspections, impounding animals, issuing infringements, preparing materials for briefs of evidence, and presenting evidence in court. If you have skills in managing time, planning and organising your own work, are able to achieve specific objectives and have high level customer service skills, you are encouraged to apply. A Certificate IV level qualification in Statutory Compliance or Animal Control is desirable, or previous experience and sound knowledge of the statutory responsibilities and relevant legislation pertaining to Local Government will be looked upon favourably. Applicants must address the Key Selection Criteria contained in the Position Description. The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment functional assessment, psychometric assessment, a National Police History Check and provide a copy of their COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate prior to commencement.
