The Region

The Strathbogie region is home to waterways, wineries, walking tracks and beautiful wilderness.

Just under two hours from Melbourne, Strathbogie Shire is made up of historic towns including Avenel, Euroa, Longwood, Nagambie, Ruffy Strathbogie and Violet Town and is known for its sheep production, winemaking and olive and alpaca farming.

The Organisation

Our Council is a vibrant and progressive regional municipality. Our Civic Centre in Euroa is central to the major regional centres of Shepparton, Seymour, Wangaratta and Benalla which offer all of the facilities, retail and entertainment opportunities you would find in a capital city but with a peaceful, friendly country ambience.

The Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our growing region to support the planning, scoping, and prioritisation of infrastructure projects in the 10-year capital works program and assist in their delivery. The variety of work will allow you to utilize your current skills and continue to develop into a well-rounded professional.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or similar, coupled with experience in design and delivery works of projects such as roads, bridges, and buildings.
  • Sound technical skills and computer literacy in software such as AutoCAD, DRAINS or MUSIC.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills to enable effective communication across the organisation, and with external stakeholders such as contractors and the community.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
