SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER

($71k - $97k)



The Shire of Narrogin has an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our finance department, contributing to the efficient processing of journals, reconciliations, and financial reports. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in preparation of the Shire of Narrogin’s Long Term Financial Plan.
  • Assist in Maintaining the Shire of Narrogin’s Asset Management Plans.
  • Assist in Compiling Council Corporate Business Plan.
  • Assist in Preparing and Maintaining the Shire of Narrogin’s Workforce Management Plan.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Strategic Community Plan.
  • Compile the Monthly Financial Statements for reporting to Council.
  • Compile a monthly performance report on Capital Expenditure Budget vs Actual.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliations are completed with variance clearing plans.
  • Compile the Monthly Investment Report.
  • Co-ordinate year end revaluations and processing of revalued amounts.
  • Assist with Audit preparation and compile required documentation.
  • Assist in grant applications and acquittals.
  • Provide support to the finance team.
  • Complete DoT Training in Perth to be able to provide support to the finance team.

The successful candidate will require Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or a business-related qualification or relevant experience in a finance department covering processing of journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
