The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.  The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville.  The Whitsunday region offers a dynamic environment and is perfectly placed to live, work, play and invest.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists within our Infrastructure Services directorate for a Works Leading Hand.  In this role, you will provide assistance to the Works Coordinator to deliver nominated civil works.

Essential

  1. C Class Manual Drivers Licence.
  2. General Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
  3. LR Class Drivers Licence or willingness to obtain soon after appointment.
  4. Traffic Management Implementation or willingness to obtain soon after appointment.
  5. Certificate III in Civil Construction or willingness to obtain soon after appointment.

Desirable

  1. Traffic Controller Ticket.
  2. Certificate IV in Civil Construction.
  3. MR & HR Class Drivers licence.
  4. Occupational Health and Safety Certificates of Competency in LR, LL, LB or LG.
  5. Working at Heights Certification.
