Team Leader Animal Management


About the team

Responsible for enforcement of the City’s standards and local laws, across building, community, public safety and environmental health compliance to protect safety and amenity for the City’s residents and visitors.

About your new role

As a Team Leader – Animal Management you are responsible for the effective leadership of a team of Animal Management Officers and Inspectors. You will support your team to deliver effective and efficient animal management regulatory outcomes for the City. You will support the delivery of improvement initiatives within the team, ensuring that compliance obligations are met, contribute operational insight to policy development and support a team of staff through training and mentoring opportunities.

You have a genuine interest in improving the safety of the community and your team. You are skilled in negotiating positive outcomes through your proven leadership experience in challenging situations. You are an excellent communicator and are experienced in making and reviewing administrative decisions within a regulatory framework. People would describe you as someone who has a high level of integrity, comes to work each day with a positive ‘can do’ attitude and actively seeks to challenge the status-quo to achieve continual improvement and drive efficiencies. You have a comprehensive understanding of the role that compliance has in Local Government and you are committed to promoting a safe and inclusive workplace.
