About the Opportunity

Parkes Shire Council is looking for multiple full-time Labourers to join our Operations team in Parkes, NSW. This role involves performing a wide range of manual tasks under the direction of the Works Supervisors, contributing significantly to the council's civil construction services and infrastructure projects.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Carrying out general labouring tasks to support council projects
• Assisting in the construction and maintenance of council assets and infrastructure
• Operating plant and equipment as required
• Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and procedures
• Maintaining accurate records of work activities
• Engaging in team activities and contributing to a positive team environment
• Other duties as required by Parkes Shire Council

About You

To qualify, you will hold a General Construction Induction Card (White Card), a current driver's licence, and at least one year of relevant hands-on experience in a similar role or industry.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

• Experience in civil construction or maintenance
• Ability to use hand tools and operate small plant equipment
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and electronic device usage skills

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Parkes Shire Council's policies and conditions of employment. 

The role has been evaluated as being Grade 2 of Council's salary structure and offers a competitive salary circa $50,233 - $57,768  (depending on skills and experience) plus super and salary packaging options to increase your take-home pay.
