Parks Project Officer

The Role

Reporting to the Manager Parks & Recreation, you will be responsible for the implementation of Council's Works Program to deliver projects on time and on budget, including maintenance works in accordance with approved standards, budgetary constraints and time schedules.

About you

We are looking for an innovative problem solver who is committed to providing effective verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership skills in conflict resolution and strong organisational skills in achieving critical deadlines and schedules.

You must have:

• Relevant Tertiary qualification or industry experience
• WorkCover WHS General Induction for Construction Work in NSW
• Proven maintenance and construction techniques for Parks and associated facilities including minor and major structures, drainage and projects public domain
• Previous experience in the preparation of budgets and estimates, administration of tender and contract documentation, and knowledge of Local Government procedures and relevant legislation
• Ability to resolve and control complex problems and show adaptability and initiative
• Conflict resolution and public relation skills
