The Shire of Mount Magnet is looking to appoint a dedicated individual for a strategic leadership role
The Shire of Mount Magnet is located 567 kilometres north of Perth, encompasses 13,877 square kilometres in area and has a population of approximately 450 people. The mining and pastoral industries form the economic base of the Shire with tourism becoming an important contributor to the economy. The Shire’s Council is committed to creating an environment that is an enjoyable place to live; to building a secure future for the community and to being recognised as a leader in facilitating progress within the Murchison Region. A unique opportunity has arisen for a suitably skilled and experienced CEO to join the Shire and build and maintain strong professional relationships with Councillors, employees and the community and support the Shire’s mission in providing local civic leadership and governance through good decision making, accountability and transparency. This pivotal role will appeal to a collaborative leader with high-level strategic planning experience, a strong financial acumen and demonstrated community engagement skills. The successful applicant will need to have an understanding of sustainable local economic development and Local Government governance and legislation. The total reward package range offered in accordance with the Band 4 role is $128,226 to $201,113 per annum plus 10% superannuation. The contract is up to 5 years and includes unrestricted use of a vehicle, rent-free housing, and up to $30,000 in isolation allowance.
