Landfill Worker (2 positions)



We are seeking two multi-skilled Landfill Workers to join our Resource Recovery and Education Unit. You will assist in providing safe, efficient and effective operation of our landfill at Eaglehawk with a specific focus on aiding in resource recovery from the incoming waste streams, as the City of Greater Bendigo moves towards a Circular Economy.


This position includes a range of duties across all operations of the Landfill including  operating mechanical plant and equipment, weighbridge and gate-house operations, interaction with customers on a daily basis with a specific focus on the increased recovery of materials which can be recycled or repurposed from the domestic drop off area.


The landfill operates under an EPA approved licence with conditions in place to control wind-blown litter, dust and odour onsite, this taken into account with all activities and duties undertaken at the landfill.


The successful applicant will have good customer service and communication skills, excellent knowledge and understanding of resource recovery and a passion for diversion from landfill and the ability to work as a cooperative team member. This position works a 9 days on and 5 days off roster.


A current drivers licence is required plus a pre-employment medical and satisfactory police check may be required for this position.
