Administration Officer - Growth & Activation



THE JOB

Snowy Valleys Council is seeking an experienced and capable administration officer to provide professional and timely administrative services and contribute to the effective operation of the customer service response for Councils Growth and Development function.

This is a temporary position from 14 June 2024 – 31 January 2025 to cover staff leave. This term includes a period of training prior to the commencement of leave.

This role will require high level administrative skills with the ability to plan and organise work priorities, work through and resolve administrative issues, and work within timeframes. The successful person will be collaborative and proactive with strong communication skills and a focus on delivery of quality customer service.

Previous experience in a similar role will be considered favourably but is not required. Duties will include:

  • receipt and processing of applications for development and certification
  • provide first point of contact for customer enquiries and follow up
  • processing application outcomes once decisions have been determined
  • accept, book and prioritise critical stage inspections for officers
  • maintain records and databases to ensure information is readily accessible
  • provide administrative support to the team including facilitation of meetings

THE TEAM

The Growth and Development team delivers the building certification, land use planning, development control, environmental health and regulatory services of Council in order to effectively meet strategic planning, statutory and community needs.

THE BENEFITS

  • Fortnightly salary of $2232.71 plus 11% superannuation contribution.
  • 35 hour working week.
  • Flexible working arrangements available including a 9-day fortnight.
