About the position: The Regulatory Services branch is seeking to fill the position of Coordinator Emergency Management on a full-time basis. The main responsibility of this position is to ensure the region is prepared for, is able to respond to and recover from any disaster and emergency events. In addition, this role will provide strategic advice and guidance in relation to disaster/emergency management and will be required to build & maintain strong relationships with relevant external agencies, the community and the dedicated Voluntary Bush Fire Brigades. Position requirements: The successful candidate will possess a degree in Emergency Management or related discipline with relevant experience, or a lesser qualification with significant experience. Demonstrated practical experience within emergency management is essential, as is knowledge of relevant legislation and experience in both project management and risk mitigation and management. Additionally, the successful candidate will possess highly developed communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise and provide clear direction to the team. Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City. Remuneration and benefits: A salary starting from $115,954 per annum or $58.6814 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
