The Role

The City of Canterbury Bankstown has a new opportunity for an experienced leader to join our ICT Unit as the Team Leader Spatial and Customer Information (GIS). In this role, you will lead Council's Spatial and Customer Information function through customer focussed services and accurate spatial information systems. You will provide leadership, support and guidance empowering team members to achieve organisational outcomes.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Continuous review of services provided, improvement programs, monitoring of service levels and the capability levels of the team to enhance the quality of the customer experience.
  • Manage the Geographic Information System (GIS) and property system to maintain various datasets, conduct spatial analysis and produce high-quality products and services to customers.
  • Manage and maintain Council's Name and Address register, and Council's Property Numbering policy and process.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers, with a focus on continuous improvement and the customer experience.

You will have

  • Current Class C driver’s licence.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Spatial Information/GIS or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading people and teams to achieve outcomes.
  • Experience in Spatial Information related services.
  • Specialised knowledge and experience in the application of Property, GIS and related systems.
  • Extensive written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate technological solutions related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences at various levels.
  • Sound collaboration and negotiation skills with the capability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders through outstanding customer service.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $118,408 (Grade J, Step 1) + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
