Strategic Planner

Mansfield Shire Council is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and community focused individual to take up the of Strategic Planner role. The key focus of the role is to ensure that Mansfield Shire Council has the right strategic plans and policies in place to effectively guide future investment and growth in a way that preserves the rural character of the Shire. The role of the Mansfield township as a regional service center must be recognized by local planning policy, and this position is responsible for ensuring that plans are in place to manage future growth of this center.

Reporting to the Manager Planning & Environment. The responsibilities of the role will include, development and implementation of strategic planning policy, associated studies and reports, advocate for Council’s interests through representation on, and submissions to, various State Government reviews and other relevant groups or advisory committees and development of project briefs and associated selection and management of consultants appointed to prepare strategic studies for Mansfield Shire Council.

Remuneration will be based on Band 6 / Band 7 classification $84,615.18 - $93,687.23 per annum plus superannuation depending on the qualifications and experience as per the Mansfield Shire Council Enterprise Agreement 2022.
