The Cooks River Alliance along with the City of Canterbury Bankstown is on a mission to enhance the wellbeing of our community by taking a long-term, holistic and cooperative approach to managing the health of the Cooks River. This is because the Alliance recognises that a healthy Cooks River not only provides important environmental benefits, but important mental and physical outcomes for our community. The purpose of the Cooks River Alliance is to facilitate the revitalisation of the Cooks River by combining the resources, experience, knowledge, and skills of our member organisations with those in the community to address the complex environmental and social challenges facing the Cooks River. The Cooks River Alliance is hosted by Canterbury Bankstown Council, therefore you will be employed through Canterbury Bankstown Council. The Role The Aboriginal Landcare Coordinator will lead the support of Landcare related activities within the Cooks River catchment. This includes facilitating interactions with Landcare and relevant agencies (including Aboriginal peoples and organisations) at the local, district and regional scales, to empower participation in Landcare by individuals and groups in a culturally sensitive manner. As an Identified role, this position is open exclusively to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia's First Nations people. Confirmation of Aboriginality / Torres Strait Islander will be required. *This opportunity will be offered on a Temporary Part-time basis (3 days per week / 21 hours per week) until June 2027 Duties will include but not be limited to:
