Wentworth Shire Council is a forward-thinking Council that is focussed on meeting the communities needs and providing exceptional service. Wentworth Shire covers an area of 2,616,926 hectares (26,000 sq km) and has a population of approximately 8,000 people. The townships of Wentworth, Dareton, Buronga and Gol Gol are located on the southern boundary of the Shire, along the Murray River, and Pooncarie to the north, is on the Darling River. Wentworth, which is situated at the junction of these two rivers, is 1,075 km from Sydney, 585 km from Melbourne and 420 km from Adelaide. You will report to our General Manager, be an integral part of our Executive Leadership team and will actively participate in the strategic development of the organisation, providing leadership and fostering cooperation across all directorates.

The scope of the directorate responsibilities include team leadership and people management, financial services, information technology, customer services, governance, records management, economic and community development.
