About the Role

As a Development Engineer in our multi-award-winning organisation, you will support the Coordinator Building Surveyor in providing a complete service in relation to development assessment, specifically with respect to the engineering aspects of development.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing professional advice, support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders with respect to the engineering aspects of development
  • Assessing, evaluating and recommending on engineering aspects of development having regard to all relevant requirements.
  • Assessing, determining and issuing development related applications including construction certificates and compliance certificates under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
  • Assisting Council to perform the functions of a Principal Certifying Authority with respect to subdivision work.

About You: The Successful Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will possess tertiary qualifications in civil/environmental engineering or similar discipline, or demonstrated experience at an appropriate level to competently carry out the duties of the position.

You will also possess demonstrated experience in engineering/technical development functions of a Local Government or private consultancy including the assessment and supervision of engineering aspects of land development; experience in the assessment of development related applications including development applications, construction certificates, subdivision certificates and water supply/sewerage/stormwater drainage work; demonstrated knowledge and application of engineering design and construction techniques associated with development including stormwater, on-site detentions, bio-retentions, road, transport and environmental practice.
