Casual Educators - Children's Services


We are seeking Early Childhood Educators to join our Children’s Services team on casual basis.

Snowy Valleys Council offers a range of Child Care and Education services in the region including Long-Day and After-School care in Tumbarumba, a Preschool in Khancoban, and a mobile service called Puggles that brings early childhood education to remote communities.

Whether you are a qualified, experienced educator or you are currently working through a relevant qualification and interested in gaining skills and experience we would love to hear from you!

We have a number of Educator position levels available Casual Educator – Uncertified (currently enrolled in a tertiary course), Casual Educator – Certificate III, Casual Educator – Diploma, Casual Educator – Early Childhood Teacher / Room Leader.

At Snowy Valleys Council there is opportunity to work in all facets of caring for children from birth to 5 years by working through our different services. You may care for infants in our nursery room, plan and implement a preschool program, facilitate an After-School Care facility and work in a mobile service depending on your qualifications, experience, and availability.

We are looking for people who are:

  • Willing and available to work on a casual basis.
  • Dedicated to creating a fun, engaging and respectful environment for our staff, children and their caregivers.

SALARY

Salary will be paid in accordance with Local Government (State) Award 2023 and the Snowy Valleys Council’s salary system.

  • Casual Educator – Uncertified $34.18 / hour (includes 25% casual loading)
  • Casual Educator – Certificate III $36.00 / hour (includes 25% casual loading)
  • Casual Educator – Diploma $40.36 / hour (includes 25% casual loading)
  • Casual Educator – ECT / Room Leader $42.89 / hour (includes 25% casual loading)
