Council is seeking applications to fill the full time position of Plant Operator (Roller). This position will be based in Longreach.

The Position

Council is seeking the services of a person to fill the position of Plant Operator (Roller). The successful applicant will be responsible for performing safe and efficient operation, maintenance and use of assigned plant, equipment and materials and associated labouring duties, as directed in the execution of Council’s civil construction and maintenance activities. In particular, to efficiently conduct Roller operations to meet required standards on maintenance and construction projects. The role may also require labouring/maintenance tasks when the Roller is not required.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this position you will need to hold nationally recognised Competency for Roller (Blue and Yellow tickets will need to be RPL to new competency), White Induction Card (30215 Qld Course in General Safety Induction) and a current MR class driver’s licence. It would also be desirable for the successful applicant to hold Traffic Management Plan.

Salary and Conditions

The position is classified as a Level 4 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017 and offers

an annual salary (including allowances and leave loading) of $61,724.79. This position also has the following benefits:

  • Up to 12% Superannuation Contribution;
  • Rostered Days Off;
  • 5 Weeks Annual Leave (17.5% Leave Loading);
  • 15 Days Sick Leave;
  • Provision of Uniforms; and
  • Training and Professional Development.
