Sport & Leisure Planner


About the position:

The Sport & Leisure Planner is responsible for the supervision of all sporting user groups at the City’s sporting precincts, in particular, the implementation of capital works and renewal applications or maintenance enquiries associated with these facilities. The position is to also identify opportunities for hosting high profile sporting events, securing grant funding and provide general advice and consultation to the sporting community.

Key accountabilities:

  • Act as the liaison officer for all correspondence relating to sporting communications, in particular for the 14 City managed sporting facilities.
  • Collate, review and prepare nominations for capital works and renewal applications from sporting groups and assist the sporting community with this process.
  • Respond to sporting user groups and ensure effective communications are actioned in a timely manner relating to maintenance or sporting enquiries.
  • Source and apply for sport related grant funding opportunities as directed by the Manager Sport & Leisure that may assist in building the profile of sport within the City.
  • Source, identify and engage with stakeholders to initiate high profile sporting event opportunities with significant economic benefits into the CGG community.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will have experience working with community and/or sporting groups at a regional level. Experience in grant applications and coordinating small capital works projects (renewals/maintenance) would be highly regarded.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $75,860 per annum or $38.39 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
