Senior Accountant - Finance Planning


An opportunity has become available for a Senior Accountant – Finance Planning to Join the Financial Services Team. This is a fulltime position with 9-day fortnight roster.

About the Role:

As the Senior Accountant – Finance Planning you will be responsible for controlling and monitoring project development through the various stages of its lifecycle and liaising with the PMO to ensure an up-to-date long-term capital plan. The position will also have direct responsibility for the Long-term Financial Forecast updates and reporting.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, commerce or accounting or equivalent.
  • Membership to the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants or Chartered Accountants association will be highly regarded.
  • Significant accounting experience in the field of project management and/or financial management and the relevant software applications and packages.
  • Strong level of knowledge, application and ability to interpret Australian accounting standards and legislation, with an understanding of local government accounting procedures, guidelines and audit regulations.
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving combined with the ability to analyse financial data, produce detailed financial forecasts and provide comprehensive financial advice.
