Do you want to contribute to flood risk management for the benefit of our community?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Floodplain Management Engineer to join our team! The Floodplain + Stormwater team is recognised as an industry leader for flood risk and stormwater management.  The team is specifically responsible for managing and coordinating a diverse range of projects across the local government area.  We are undertaking the review of our floodplain risk management studies and plans. The review adopts industry best practice to assess and prioritise floodplain risk management options and inform Council’s extensive Infrastructure Delivery Program.

You will use your floodplain management experience along with your excellent communication skills to contribute to this new ambitious project! You will work with our a friendly and highly professional team to:

• revise floodplain risk management studies and plans;
• manage and conduct community consultation on flood risk management; 
• liaise with Floodplain Risk Management Committees, and key stakeholders such as NSW DPIE;
• Provide advice and review land use planning and development controls for flood risk management; and
• develop key floodplain risk mitigation designs in collaboration with Council’s design team and consultants.
