Do you have experience and expertise in environmental planning and compliance? Are you passionate about protecting native vegetation and working with others to achieve sound environmental built form outcomes?

We now have an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join our team as an Environmental Planning and Compliance Officer.

We are looking for someone to join our team of highly experienced environmental planners who has high level technical skills in environmental planning regulations, native vegetation identification; who can develop local policy for strategic and statutory planning applications; can undertake compliance and enforcement activities following breaches of the Planning and Environment Act 1987; can work to build the capacity of the development industry and planning sector; and can work across our organisation and with the community to achieve integrated environmental outcomes.

Key Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High level organisational skills and experience successfully navigating different priorities
  • Well-developed understanding of Hume's natural heritage values
  • Understanding of Victoria's planning framework
