Project Manager Growth Area Planning


  • Temporary, Full time – Fixed Term until September 2021 

  • Annualised salary range $119, 235 to $132,386 per annum plus 9.5% superannuation  

 

The City of Ballarat is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager Growth Area Planning to lead and manage the day to day activities and outputs of the project to deliver two new growth fronts in Ballarat, under the overall guidance of the Manager Strategic Planning.  

 

The position will progress with the extensive work required to progress towards Precinct Structure Plans, engage with landowners regarding boundaries, 3rd party funding agreements and prepare a detailed business case for the ongoing funding of dedicated growth area planning resources for consideration in future budget processes. 

 

Key Selection Criteria 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Town Planning. Additional postgraduate qualifications or specialisations are desirable.  

  • Demonstrated high level experience in the preparation of Precinct Structure Plans and the development of greenfield growth areas using the processes of the Planning and Environment Act 1987. 

  • Demonstrated communication and entrepreneurial skills to influence and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, coupled with excellent proficiencies in report writing, researching skills, policy development and verbal presentations. 

  • Demonstrated high level experience in negotiating with stakeholders and landowners to achieve community outcomes in a complex business and political environment. 

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining industry, government and community partnerships to deliver key strategies and projects. 

  • Commitment to effective management of health and safety issues especially relevant to this role.
