Venue Coordinator (P/T)

The Role

The Venue Coordinator will contribute to the effective and efficient coordination and administration of the Bankstown Arts Centre and ensure the highest standard of customer service is maintained at the facility.


The successful applicant will be based at the Bankstown Arts Centre and will be responsible for the administration of the venue as well as programs, policies & procedures relevant to the management of the Centre.


At present, an opportunity currently exists for a Part Time Venue Coordinator to join our Arts Centre on a Permanent basis The successful applicant will be required to work 9:00 am - 5:00PM on Thursdays and Fridays.


Some paid weekend work will be required from time to time


Your duties in this role will include:

  • Ensure the facilities are used in an appropriate manner
  • Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures for the effective and efficient administration of the Bankstown Arts Centre as required
  • Coordinate information and increase community awareness of the venue, programs and services available to the community
  • Assist in bookings management
  • Offer a high level of face to face and phone based Customer Service
  • Build relationships with tenants, permanent and casual centre hirers in relation to their needs and issues relating to the use of the centre
  • Conflict and complaint resolution
  • Damage reporting and repair coordination
  • Providing input on key areas of improvement, 3programming and day to day activities
  • Providing operational assistance to the Arts Centre Director and attending to any other duty related to the position as required

You will have:

  • A qualification in Venue management/Marketing/Hospitality or demonstrated art industry experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge and experience with the administration and management of community facilities.
  • Experience with multicultural issues in a diverse community.
  • Previous experience in bookings/functions co-ordination/management
  • A demonstrated ability in coordinating the day-to-day operations of a multi-purpose venue
  • An ability to effectively work independently and with a team
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of computer skills.
  • Experience in marketing and promotion of services and programs.
  • Basic understanding of Occupational Health, Safety and Rehabilitation, WorkCover and other relevant legislative requirements
