About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.  

About the Role

Work closely within a team to deliver the fortnightly payroll function for the City of Port Phillip.  Contribute to automation and process improvements across the organisation while maintaining a culture of high-level customer service and collaboration.  Relevant payroll experience in a dynamic environment and delivering a payroll to 1000+ staff is a must.

Duties:

• Successfully process an accurate end to end fortnightly pay within agreed deadlines

• Collaborate with team and stakeholders to support and improve the payroll function

• Provide accurate advice in line with current awards, EBA, legislation and policy

• Provide high level customer service across all levels of the organisation

• Proactive problem solving and issues analysis to create efficiencies

Skills and Experience 

• Experience performing high volume payroll processing 

• Experience implementing new awards and entitlements

• Proven experience in award interpretation and allocation of different allowances 

• Understanding of all legislative requirements impacting the organisation and staf
