The City of Sydney is seeking a senior media professional to work in its communications unit.
City Communications is responsible for protecting the City’s brand 24/7, responding to media inquiries and managing emerging issues. The team also produces high quality, multi-media content that promotes the City’s programs, projects, policies and events to the media and the community.
To be successful in this role, you will have exceptional writing, communication and time-management skills. You will be capable of handling complex issues and be able to work on large-scale projects on a daily basis. You will be someone who works well under pressure and is a co-operative team player.
The ideal candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills, including experience dealing and negotiating with a wide variety of stakeholders, and the ability to deal with sensitive or contentious issues.
Previous experience in a senior media or communications position is essential. You will be required to demonstrate your experience in turning complex planning, business or community issues into engaging content for a broad audience.
