Engineering Cadet
Making things happen is what engineering services is all about, now we have an opportunity to make things happen in your life too.
Engineering services are the Council's Engineers, providing technical design and engineering assistance across the roading, drainage and water networks. You've seen us. We're the bods in orange jackets, theodolites in hand, keeping contractors on track - making sure things happen as they should.
As one of our Engineering Cadets you'll be hard placed to get a better grounding in engineering. Working on a wide variety of projects you'll see things through from start to finish, being involved at every phase - drawing and design, managing contracts, co-odinating contractors, implementation and sign off.
It's likely you'll have, or be about to complete, Level 2 or 3 NCEA with a strong showing in design, sciences and maths and a bent for things technical. Working here you'll be able to learn and earn, combining work with study. We give you the time off for study to complete your NZ Diploma in engineering (Civil).
