Our region extends over 23,862 square kilometres and includes the major townships of Airlie Beach, Bowen, Cannonvale, Collinsville and Proserpine, with numerous rural and coastal communities and residential areas scattered throughout the area.

We administer in excess of $1.4?billion in assets, including four?library branches, six aquatic facilities, four customer service centres as well as various major infrastructure and equipment. We maintain 1784 km of roads and 120 parks and open spaces.

Reporting to the Human Resources Operations Coordinator, this is a fantastic opportunity for capable HR Professional to contribute to the overall strategic direction and corporate performance of Whitsunday Regional Council.

The Human Resource Business Partner is directorate focused in implementing whole of Council Policy, Procedures and Strategies in addition to providing advice regarding relevant legislation and industrial instruments. The Human Resource Business Partner provides Human Resources guidance and advice to directorate/s, enabling strategic and operational outcomes through its people by fostering a values-driven, engaged, and high-performing workplace culture.

The ideal candidate must possess a proven ability to influence and foster a positive and productive organisational culture, coupled with contemporary knowledge of general HR Practices. Whilst tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or Business are preferred, individuals with significant HR or Business experience will be considered.

Being highly organised with the ability to prioritise urgent tasks, together with the ability to work with a wide range of key stakeholders will also be essential for success in the role. Local Government experience will be advantageous but is not mandatory.
