Primary Objective

Establish and maintain industry leading practice for technical standards for Power Service’s electrical transmission and, distribution (overhead and underground) networks, and zone substations in a small team environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

1.      Review, update and contribute towards the development of Power Services Design and Construction Guidelines and Standards Manuals.

2.      Evaluate in-service and new components or equipment.

3.      Lead the roll out, co-ordinate and provide support and training for new apparatus equipment and the application of Power Services Design and Construction Standards Manual.

4.      Provide engineering support to Asset Management Team and other Power Services operations and project delivery groups.

5.      Carry out duties in accordance with Power and Water's safety and environmental policy, safety principles, corporate values
and behaviours.

 

Selection Criteria – Essential

1.      Scientific or Engineering degree recognised for Professional Membership with Engineer Australia.

2.      Working knowledge of the design and construction of power network infrastructure.

3.      Competent with hazard identification and the application of semi-quantitative risk assessment, and the application of Safety in Design principles and processes.

4.      Possess conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills.

5.      Have a current Class C Drivers Licence.

 

Selection Criteria – Desirable

1.      Working knowledge with Australian / International electrical standards.

2.      Working knowledge of power systems, in particular transmission and distribution standards.
