Financial Wellbeing and Capability Team Leader

Council is looking to employ a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Team Leader to work within our innovative Financial Wellbeing and Capability Program

The Financial Wellbeing and Capability Program Team Leader leads a team comprising a Financial Wellbeing / Capability Officer and community based indigenous Support Workers.

Applicants must be appropriately qualified with a minimum of a Diploma of Community Work (Financial Counselling) and be accredited with FCA.  As a leader we seek someone who can demonstrate significant Financial Counselling services and leadership experience at Social & Community Work Level 5 or equivalent. 

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Case management and support for individuals, families and community groups;
  • Assessment and referral of clients to alternative agencies or support services to assist them with issues impacting on their financial management;
  • Working with individuals, families and community group to address problem gambling;
  • Assisting with the coordination and compilation of basic reports against KPI’s.

Salary will be dependent on experience but will be in the range of $80,000 - $90,000 minimum base, additional to this you will be offered full PBI Salary Packaging, 9.5% super, a total of 8 weeks leave per annum, an annual airfare and 17.5% leave loading.  A fully maintained work vehicle and accommodation will be supplied as part of this package.

The position will be based on the Ngaanyatjarra Lands with extensive travel required across the Lands, including Laverton.

Previous experience living in remote indigenous communities, a current driver’s licence and travelling long distances on unsealed roads will be highly regarded.

You will require a current ‘C’ class drivers licence as well as a National Police Check & WA Working with Children check.
