  • Work a 9-Day-Fortnight (38hr Week) 
  • Salary Ranging from $74,789.00 - $86,916.44 p.a + 11% Superannuation (Depending on Qualifications & Experience) 

The Opportunity

The purpose of the Team Leader is to provide leadership and high level planned and reactive maintenance and presentation services to Council's open spaces, facilities and Civic/CBD Spaces in line with agreed service levels. As a team leader, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this position in representing Council in a positive and solutions focused manner.

Essential Criteria 

  • Trade qualification in the field of Gardening, Maintenance or relevant discipline and a minimum of five years' operational experience with at least two years' experience leading teams within the relevant field of facility maintenance, gardening or groundskeeping.
  • Proven experience in operating medium to large scale plant, tools and equipment in relation to gardening, groundskeeping and/or CBD spaces.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications, and operating devices effectively, embracing digital solutions for activities to enable field productivity, design, planning and scheduling based systems to facilitate day- to-day operations.
  • Proven ability in planning, communicating and coordinating resources for scheduled works and projects that require problem-solving skill set and flexible nature to change work direction for an operational advantage.
  • Ability to network effectively with key stakeholders in offering advice and support to delivering operational services.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading teams, providing effective communication, driving and managing performance and fostering a positive working culture.
  • Hold a MR Drivers Licence, WHS Induction Card, Front End Loader competency, Excavator competency, Level 1 Accredited Chainsaw course, current First Aid certificate and Safe Handling of Sharpes and/or Chemcert AQFIII certificate.
  • Maintain a current driver's licence without restriction and ability to operate manual transmission.
  • Be willing to complete immunisation of Hepatitis A, B and Tetanus
