  • Permanent Full Time Position 
  • 9 Day Fortnight - Rostered Day Off Every Fortnight 
  • (Grade E) Salary range $68,381.56 - $79,470.56 p.a + 11% Superannuation (Dependent on skills, experience and qualifications) 

The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this role is to undertake Bush Regeneration activities in order to improve, restore, and maintain Wingecarribee Shire Council's natural assets. Additionally, the incumbent will also work collaboratively with environmental volunteers by organizing and managing volunteer working bee activities on a weekly basis, ensuring effective engagement and coordination of work and resources, and providing supervision of the volunteers working on Council land. The role aligns with the objectives of the Environment and Climate Change Strategy and the Environment and Sustainability Branch Business Plan. The incumbent will work within specified standards, utilising available resources and following Council's policies and codes of practice.

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate III Conservation & Ecosystem Management or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience in a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking bush regeneration activities, including proficiency in the safe handling of power tools and equipment such as chainsaws and brush cutters as well as the application of chemicals for weed control
  • Ability to effectively use technology, including mobile and desktop applications.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience interacting with the public, including working with volunteers.
  • Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles.
  • Current NSW Class C driver's license, WHS Induction card, Chainsaw 1 Certificate, AQF 3 Chemical Accreditation and current First Aid Certificate.
