Community Activation Officer (Chinchilla)



About the Role

Based in Chinchilla you will coordinate community activation initiatives to strengthen community relations and engagement and project manage key community initiatives and programs.

Reporting to the Community Activation & Events Coordinator, you will:

  • Plan, develop and communicate key projects by liaising with a wide variety of community groups and stakeholders;
  • Boost social connectivity and community capacity to foster pride and local leadership; and
  • Have a passion for the local Chinchilla District and surrounding communities, that will enable you to empower and activate the community through local event delivery.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • A relevant qualification in Community development or be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience;
  • Proven experience in the delivery of community activation programs and projects;
  • Strategic thinking in the development of innovative approaches for enhancing community liveability and diversity;
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working in a diverse, complex environment;
  • A Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to obtain on commencement. 

This role will require the applicant to work (on occasion) outside of working hours and on weekends.
