Berrigan Shire Council is seeking applications for the position of Grader Operator.

The primary purpose of the position the Grader Operatoris to operate the grader and perform Ganger duties under instruction from the Overseer, lead a small team in the construction of Council’s roads, implement work schedules and ensure Council’s infrastructure meets a safe and high-quality standard.

Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:

  • Maintain and operate the Grader in a safemanner and prepare roadway pavements tomeet an acceptable standard for unsealedpavements, and for pavements requiringbitumen surfacing.
  • Operate additional plant as required to ensureroadworks are completed according toestablished work schedules;
  • Lead the construction team, ensuring tasks areperformed to a quality standard, and workhealth and safety requirements are met;
  • Communicate with members of the public, inaccordance with Council’s Code of Conduct, andrefer any issues raised onto appropriate staff toensure they are followed up and addressed.

Essential Requirements;

  • Australian Drivers Licence – minimum HR
  • Internal plant operation competency
  • Ability to interpret plans/Grader cards
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Implement Traffic Control Plans qualification.

This position is full time, classified at Band 10 Entry Level - under Council’s salary structure between $65,504.99 and $71,399.99 per annum, plus 11% statutory superannuation, 76 hour 9 day fortnight. Conditions are in accordance with Local Government (State) Award 2023.
