Mackay Regional Council are currently seeking an experienced Operator Plant to join the Civil Operations team based at the Mirani Depot. This position is Permanent Fulltime with a 9-day fortnight roster.

The successful candidate will carry out labouring and plant and truck operation duties associated with maintenance and construction of roads and drainage assets, or other associated civil infrastructure under the limited supervision of a Supervisor or Leading Hand.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Current General Construction Safety "White" Card.
• Current QLD Heavy Rigid Truck ‘HR’ Class Licence.
• QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
• Competent operation of ride-on equipment and light and medium mechanical plant. In particular a backhoe and competent operation of rigid motor vehicle (truck) with GVM equal to or greater than 22.5 tonne and rigid motor vehicle and trailer combination with GCM not exceeding 42.5 tonne.
• Current Certificate of Competency to operate road construction plant and/or equipment e.g. RIIMPO318F skid steer loader, RIIMPO317F roller, RIIMPO319E loader/ backhoe, RIIMPO320F Excavator.
• Previous Experience in Civil Construction construction/maintenance of roads and drainage infrastructure.
• Previous Experience in Concrete Works

Applicants who hold a current Certificate III in Civil Construction, Traffic Controllers Ticket & or HC Truck Licence will be highly regarded.
