Inclusive Communities Officer - Access and Inclusion


Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for an Inclusive Communities Officer who will lead the development and implementation of effective strategies, partnerships, programs that increase access, inclusion and participation in the Greater Bendigo region. The role focuses on responding to the barriers faced by our community, particularly people with disability, and advancing equity, inclusion and accessibility for all community members.

You will develop and maintain strategic relationships and networks, working collaboratively to promote access and inclusion through a commitment to responding to the priorities of disadvantaged groups, facilitate collaborative research projects and advisory groups, working in partnership to deliver grant funded programs and preparing a wide range of reports and submissions.

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive knowledge of community development, access and inclusion, social justice principles and the proven ability to effectively apply these within organisational and community contexts.

You will have an understanding of a systems change framework, the current policy context and support services, a comprehensive understanding of equity and disadvantage in our community and experience communicating and influencing outcomes for the community.

This position can work remotely, up to 2 days per week, with part time options considered. We can consider flexible working times and rostered days off (RDO’s).
