How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…

The Senior Knowledge Programming Coordinator is responsible for leading the programming and event delivery for the Knowledge Programming team. This will include the coordination of programming, curation and delivery for the Melbourne Conversations program throughout the year, and the annual Melbourne Knowledge Week Festival. The Senior Knowledge Programming Coordinator is a member of the Premier Events team which delivers a range of year-round events, programs and activations for City of Melbourne.

You will be an active leader in the team and manage the end-to-end delivery of each project, from conceptual phase through to impact reporting. Fundamental to your success in the role will be exploring ambitious ideas for innovative programming opportunities, new technology integration, and ensuring the delivery of each event maximises its reach, impact and legacy.

This role is sometimes be required to work offsite for stakeholder engagement and managing public events, and will need to exercise autonomous thinking and discretion in decision-making when working with the range of stakeholders and situations.

  • Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
  • University qualifications in a related field, and proven experience programming and delivering large scale festivals and events.
  • Proven experience in audience development, Expressions of Interest (EOI) processes, and high quality stakeholder management practices.
  • An established network of related stakeholders and partners, and experience managing successful partnership and sponsorship strategies.
  • Strong self-motivation and innovative ways of working, with experience managing staff and volunteers, and working in/or with startups, university, knowledge or arts sector institutions.
  • Adaptive leadership capabilities to manage teams to deliver complex, collaborative projects, in a dynamic, multi stakeholder environment.
  • Proven ability to manage operational projects and budgets on time, to the target quality levels, and on budget.
