Cobar is a rural mining community located in western New South Wales, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city living. Council owns and operates the Cobar Shire & TAFE Library, Great Cobar Heritage Centre, Lilliane Brady Village (aged care facility), Children's Services, Youth & Fitness Centre as well as works depots in Euabalong and Cobar.

ABOUT YOU

Your previous experience in animal handling combined with your ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal guidance to provide workable solutions will ensure your success in this role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Compliance Officer will be primarily responsible for delivering high quality customer service, compliance, and enforcement services to ensure the amenity of Cobar Shire is maintained by identifying and rectifying issues pertaining to the environment, littering and water pollution, footpath and road obstructions, parks and reserves, building sites, parking and traffic control, and companion animals.

This position is classified as Band 2 Level 3 ($37.69 - $43.64hr) plus applicable allowances under Council's salary system, with employment terms and conditions in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, working a 9-day fortnight, 38 hours a week. The successful candidate will also need to be available for a reasonable amount of overtime and be on call for after-hours emergencies.
