This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full-time basis. The salary range for this opportunity commences at $ 82,358 (Grade G, Step 1) + 10% super

Accountabilities

  • Continuously update, organise, archive and maintain the Canterbury Bankstown 3D Digital Model including the following:
    • Coordinate the ongoing development, management and expansion of the 3D city model as new developments are proposed, approved and developed throughout Canterbury Bankstown LGA.
    • Coordinate the maintenance and upgrade of software associated with the digital 3D model, as well as remedy technical issues
    • Provide technical manuals, procedures, user training, demonstrations and support to all users and various stakeholders across council.
    • Liaise with developers and architects to submit digital 3D models of proposed developments as part of the Development Application process.
    • Keep up to date with industry trends and make recommendations on new technology for Council.
  • Aid visual communication and presentations using programs such as Terra Explorer, Autodesk 3D Max, Giraffe, the Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and Google Sketchup (or other relevant software as required) to assist staff, councillors and the community.
  • Provide innovative and effective 3D digital model and visualisation expertise to contribute to urban design policies and plans to achieve specific outcomes.
  • Provide advice on urban design issues for development applications, planning proposals and precinct plans and other parts of Council as required.
  • Represent Council’s interests in dealings with State and Federal Government Agencies and other Authorities, particularly in relation to 3D modelling and visualisation.

Essential criteria:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Architecture, Urban Design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in 3D digital model, 3D digital visualisation and urban design.
  • Proficiency in 3D GIS and digital drafting (Terra Explorer, Autodesk 3D Max, Giraffe, Sketchup, AutoCAD, ArchGIS and/or equivalent), Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing urban design referrals, master plans, guidelines, manuals, etc.
  • Ability to develop sophisticated design solutions for urban design projects.
  • Proven organisational skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise own workload and to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, meeting competing deadlines and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to consult and liaise effectively with a wide range of people in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept project management skills including procurement, project briefs, program, budget and managing consultants.
  • Demonstrated initiative, judgement, and problem-solving skills
