ABOUT US Cobar is a rural mining community located in western New South Wales, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city living. Council owns and operates the Cobar Shire & TAFE Library, Great Cobar Heritage Centre, Lilliane Brady Village (aged care facility), Children's Services, Youth & Fitness Centre as well as works depots in Euabalong and Cobar. Our core values - Accountability, Communication, Effective Leadership, Integrity and Teamwork (ACE IT) represent who we are as an organisation. They are the agreed guiding principles for how we carry out our duties and interact with our community. Council has recently been awarded over $6M to build a brand new Early Learning Centre (ELC) to meet the growing childcare needs of our community, which has been architecturally designed specifically to exceed best practice industry standards. The ELC is expected to be 'open for business' in January 2023 and this position will play a key role in delivering the project and the re-establishment of our long day care service into the new centre. ABOUT YOU We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to develop and coordinate the delivery of outstanding children’s services. Our preferred candidate will be values driven and a competent, innovative and adaptable team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills. Reporting to the Director Finance & Community Services, you will be business minded and comfortable in an accountable environment where your strong leadership and stakeholder management will help to further develop our business and enhance our positive reputation within the local community. ABOUT THE ROLE Key responsibilities include:
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, dependent on skills, experience and qualifications including relocation assistance, subsidised Council housing and a leaseback vehicle.
