The Communications and Events Coordinator position presents an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to coordinate and deliver cross platform communications, and to plan and deliver a variety of community and civic events. Council will be accepting applications to fill the permanent full time position until 3.00pm on Friday 6 August 2021. Late applications may not be considered.

The Position

The primary role of this position is to coordinate the delivery of cross platform communications, and to plan and deliver a variety of community and civic events. The core aspects of this role will be:

• Creating and publishing content, and managing Council’s digital communications channels;
• Ensuring compliant documentation and processes are developed for communication and events strategies;
• Organisation and delivery of community and civic events; and
• Coordination of digital campaigns to promote community and civic events;

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in the role you will have:

• Proficiency in digital platforms and software packages, including design and creative software, social media management platforms, email marketing software, video editing software, survey software and ticketing systems;
• Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts and using content management systems for website and intranet uploads, and experience using data analytics and insights to measure effectiveness of communications;
• Demonstrated experience in coordination and delivery of community and civic events;
• Current Class “C” Drivers Licence; and
• Working with children Blue Card.

Salary and Conditions

A cash salary of $67,831.81 - $69,599.81 inclusive of all allowance and leave loading which is classified as a Level 4 under the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017 is offered with this position. The position also offers the following benefits:

• Up to 12% Superannuation Contribution;
