Planning Coordinator

ABOUT THE ROLE

The position of Coordinator Planning plays a critical role in shaping the policy and planning outcomes for our region. An accomplished leader of people and teams, you will be key in building a customer focused and quality team to ensure we provide genuine consultation and support to our community across all areas of planning. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with stakeholders both internal and external and will drive the team to the next level of delivery and engagement as we strive for excellence in a complex planning environment.

The purpose of the role is responsible for the coordinator of Council’s Strategic Planning, Land Use, Planning and Subdivision functions.

Accountable to the Manager Planning Building and Regulatory Services for ensuring the achievement of corporate and departmental objectives in regard to the following functional areas:

• Land Use (Statutory) Planning;

• Strategic Planning;

• Subdivisions.

You will be provided with the opportunity to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure all statutory functions and advice is delivered in a friendly, empathetic and professional manner. You will drive high-performance, innovation and provide a can-do service to all stakeholders.

You will understand the challenges facing the Moira community and the local government sector and have a clear commitment to improving the overall liveability for the community now and into the future. You will be an ambitious and collaborative leader who brings an appetite for innovation.

This is a high-profile appointment that will give you the opportunity to collaborate with the wider organisation in our delivery of key services to our region.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, including the ability to display empathy, be flexible and dependable whilst demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate an aptitude to resolve problems and think critically
