About the role:

Mackay Regional Council is looking for a passionate Community Engagement Officer. This position is a 12 month contract, part time five-day fortnight with some weekend work required. You will be working predominately on our Pioneer Valley Mountain Bike Trail project with our Capital Works Project Team.

About the role:
Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager you will develop and implement community engagement plans and strategies in accordance with Mackay Regional Council's policies and procedures. This will include engagement on matters such as policy development, program delivery, major projects and service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Planning/Communications or other appropriate discipline.
- QLD C Class Drivers Licence
- Experience in the field of Community Engagement, working with community groups and stakeholders in the local region
- Highly developed written communication skills, particularly in the preparation of formal reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively consult, engage and communicate with residents, clients and relevant stakeholders, including ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- High level of knowledge of community engagement processes.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment to deliver projects.

- Base hourly rate from $40.08 + applicable allowances
