Engineering Technical Officer - Drafting and Design

The City of South Perth (the City) is seeking applications from candidates to undertake the position of Engineering Technical Officer – Drafting and Design to join the Assets and Design Business Unit.

The successful candidate will be responsible for to providing drafting and technical support to the Design Office Coordinator and supporting the Engineering Infrastructure Team in achieving the City's operational objectives, performance improvements, project delivery, and cultural enhancements. 

To be successful in this position you need to demonstrate;

• Enrolment or recent completion of a TAFE course leading to Diploma qualifications in Civil Engineering, or Substantial completion of a Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or Surveying with minimal work related experience.
• Demonstrated experience in the use AutoCAD drafting software.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Well-developed computer literacy skills, including competency using MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
• Well-developed time management skills.
• Well-developed problem solving skills.
• Minimum 3 years Eexperience with civil design packages and AutoCAD. (Desirable)
• Previous experience in road and drainage design in an urban environment. (Desirable)
• Working knowledge of technical standards and specifications relating to road and drainage design such as MRWA, AustRoad, Australian Standards, and AR&R. (Desirable)
• Sound knowledge of estimating practices and procedures. (Desirable)
• Demonstrated experience in the use Civil 3D software. (Desirable)
• Current "C" Class West Australian driver’s licence. (Desirable)

This permanent position is a level 5 which attracts a salary of $72,314.29 - $83,239.58 gross per annum plus superannuation.
