  • Band 4 - $62,149 - $66,870 (pro rata for Part Time) plus 9.5% Super.
  • Casual - $40.30 - $43.29 per hour (includes loading) plus 9.5% Super. 
  • Full and Part Time Permanent positions and Casual positions available
  • St Kilda, South Melbourne and Port Melbourne locations

About the Role

The City of Port Philip’s Children’s Services Team are enthusiastic, passionate and committed to providing high quality education and care to children, their families and the community. We are dedicated to embedding continuous improvement to achieve outcomes for children families, community and staff.

Part time positions vary in start and finish times, hours and days per week depending upon operational requirements.                                                                                                               

We have vacancies for two, three and four days a week positions, normally at five hours a shift: e.g.: 4 days per week:   7.15am -12.15pm  or  1.15pm - 6.15pm  = 20 hours per week.

Duties: 

  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the centre community.
  • Develop and implement an innovative early learning program reflective of current early years thinking and practice.
  • Document children’s learning and development.
  • Actively working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. 

Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience in long day-care.
  • Sound, practical working knowledge and implementation of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework. 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Diploma in Children's Services or currently studying Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
  • Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID 004
  • Current CPR HLTAID 001
  • Pre employment medical check and Functional Capability Evaluation
