About the Organisation 

City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.  

About the Role

Working in a high performing communications team in a fast paced environment, this role will suit a communications professional with excellent copywriting skills and a passion for delivering customer-focused communications.

The main focus of the role is to deliver brilliant communications plans and creative, well-written, original copy for a variety of topics and audiences across a range of mediums and communication channels. The role also requires copywriting, editing and proofreading for corporate and marketing communications.

Duties:

  • Develop, implement and provide advice on communications planning and campaigns
  • Write original copy and deliver storytelling content for a wide range of communication channels
  • Provide writing and editing support, advice and assistance across the organisation
  • Generate creative ideas for written content 

Skills and Experience 

  • Develop, deliver and implement communication plans
  • Copywriting, editing and proofreading for corporate and marketing communications
  • Excellent copywriting skills, producing creative, well-written, original copy for a variety of audiences across a range of mediums and communication channels
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sophisticated knowledge of English usage
