Community Development Worker

1 x Temporary Full Time, 35 hours, 5 days per week (12 month contract)
Salary: $79,438.26 to  $87,032.08 (Grade 13)

To achieve great social outcomes and plan and deliver services for current and future residents of Liverpool, we are seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates with the best strategic minds to apply their expertise in community development and capacity building.

Reporting to the Coordinator Community Development, you will be responsible for providing community development work to ensure social cohesion, inclusion and community connectedness as part of Council’s Community Development Program. This position will focus primarily on issues facing Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) community members, as well as broader community development projects and target areas.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Develop and implement community development projects and programs with a focus on CALD communities;
  • Contribute to Council’s broader strategic and operational outcomes;
  • Raise awareness of Council’s functions and services with community members through community engagement programs and activities;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Consult and provide expert advice and guidance to Council on community needs and issues

Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience and competencies of the successful applicant.
