It's an exciting time to be in Invercargill and a privilege to work in this region.


With around 1000 visitors coming through the door each day Splash Palace is a busy place! We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to join our already fun, vibrant and dynamic team!


At Splash Palace, we pride ourselves on creating a fun and safe environment for all of our customers. We are looking for a permanent full-time Senior Lifeguard to join our team, to work poolside with the Supervisor to support our Lifeguards supervising pool users ensuring their experience is a safe and enjoyable one.


Your high level of attention to detail is essential so that you never miss a beat. Stepping in to assist the Supervisor, you will have the ability to ensure the safe and efficient running of the aquatic centre. You will also enjoy working in a team environment, be approachable, responsible, and reliable and have a positive ‘can do' attitude.


You must be a competent swimmer and are able to maintain high standards of lifesaving techniques. You will have a current First Aid Certificate and National Lifeguard Award (Level 3) or the ability to obtain these within two weeks of commencing work.


If you value water safety, health and fitness and feel you could add significant value to our community facility, then we want to hear from you! Working 40 hours per week, you must be willing to work to a roster which will include split shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

The Invercargill City Council is committed to the wellbeing and protection of children, the elderly and vulnerable adults. As a component of this role involves interaction with one or more of the above groups, as part of the assessment of candidates, we will require Police Vetting as per the Children's Act 2014 and a Pre-employment Alcohol and Drug Screening test to ensure we are providing a safe environment for our customers and members of the public.
