The Victorian Government Solicitor's Office (VGSO) provides strategic advice and practical legal solutions to the Victorian government, departments, agencies and authorities. Our clients face a wide range of legal issues and seek legal advice and solutions that offer meaningful outcomes and effective risk management, given their unique government context. The VGSO operates similarly to a mid-tier law firm.
People and Culture (P&C) are looking to appoint a driven and hands-on advisor seeking to further develop their career. Reporting to the P&C Manager, this key position will partner with the business across all elements of the employee life-cycle, including workforce planning and recruitment, organisational development and learning, performance management, remuneration and benefits, employee relations, and work, health and safety. You will provide high quality advice, support and solutions to the business and coach and counsel managers and staff in relation to performance matters.
To succeed in the role, you must have a minimum of three years relevant experience with solid knowledge of best practice HR approaches. Previous experience within a legal or professional services, or government environment would be an advantage, together with tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field. Well-developed relationship management and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on service excellence are essential. High levels of enthusiasm, energy and drive are also a must. In exchange for your hard work, you will receive competitive remuneration, learning and development opportunities and the chance to work in a small and very dedicated team.
