About the Opportunity

Maribyrnong City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Family Wellbeing Worker (Family Violence). As the lead worker for family violence issues within the Maternal and Child Health Service, your primary role will be to support families with young children who are experiencing family violence.


About You

  • You will have a strong knowledge and understanding of current legislation in the family violence area, and experience working with families experiencing family violence, with tertiary qualifications in a related area such as social work or psychology.
  • You will work with families in an outreach capacity and assist them with advice, support, advocacy and onward referrals.
  • You will also provide secondary consultations to Maternal and Child Health nurses and other Council staff working with these families.
  • You will also have both the passion and experience of working with families experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage.
